Alban Day: Pilgrimage & Festival
Celebrate Alban, Britain’s first saint, in a truly spectacular way at the Alban Day: Pilgrimage & Festival. On 22nd June, the heart of St Albans beats a little faster as the Alban Pilgrimage procession unites with the vibrant Alban Festival for a day of grandeur and joy.
Witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of 12ft puppets weaving through the streets, retelling the story of St Alban. The procession begins at St Peter’s Church at 11 AM, moving down St Peter’s Street and onto the High Street, culminating in a magnificent spectacle at the West End of the Cathedral.
After the procession, the festival continues from the Orchard to the High Street, featuring re-enactments, crafts, food, and more. Enjoy the charming shops, restaurants, and market in town, all brought together by a stage at the Clock Tower with live music.
