Thank you for choosing the Comet Hotel for your current or upcoming stay. To help make your visit as comfortable as possible we have outlined below some different services and amenities you may need. Please feel free to contact a member of staff for any additional information and we hope you enjoy your stay with us!

Air conditioning and heating is controlled by a panel on the wall which runs independently for each room. Operating instructions can be found at:

The nearest ATM is situated in the Galleria Shopping Centre.

The closest car rental is Enterprise which is located in the Galleria Shopping Centre.

We accept American Express, Master Card and Visa. We can also accept payment via Apple Pay/Android Pay

Check in time will be from 2pm.

On check in the team will ask for a pre authorisation on arrival of £50 per night, this covers any incidentals you may wish to add to your bill through out your stay.

If you require any thing to help accommodate and make your stay better please talk to a team on the desk

Check out is by 11:00. If you would like to extend your stay, or arrange a late check-out, please contact reception for availability and additional charges.

We have international adaptors at reception upon your request.

You will be required to place a £20 deposit which you will receive back once the adaptor has been returned.

All the power outlets in the hotel have an electricity voltage of 230V this is different from the US and some other countries so you may require a converter to switch the voltage.

We have a couple of EVCP located in the car park.

1 token gives up to 120 mins of charge. Free for hotel users, up to 2 tokens per hotel resident per day or 1 per diner per day.

Please familiarise yourself with the emergency evacuation plan on the back of your bedroom door.

The evacuation point can be found in the car park opposite the front of the restaurant terrace and by the plane.

We test the fire alarms on Tuesdays at 11:00 am.

We have a small number of child Z-beds and cots available, please contact the hotel prior to your arrival to make a request, check availability and charges.

A small supplement applies for each, please see below:

  • £40 per night for extra beds
  • £30 per night for a baby cot

Please be advised that we test our fire alarms every Tuesday between 11:00 and 11:30am.

If you have forgotten any of the following items, you may collect complimentary ones from reception: Toothbrush and Toothpaste, Shaving Kit, Shoeshine Pack, Sewing Kit and a Vanity Pack containing cotton buds and nail file.

We offer bedroom cleaning service everyday between 08:00 – 15:00 at your request.

We service all rooms unless told otherwise by yourself.

We have since added an offer for all guests staying 2+ nights, if you do not want your room to be serviced, kindly inform reception and you will receive a free drink voucher for one drink in the element bar. For any further information please contact reception at a convenient time.

Extra towels and toiletries can be provided upon your request.

Ice is available in the element bar upon your request or call reception for some ice to be delivered.

To access the complimentary hotel Wi-Fi from your bedroom please connect to “Comet Hotel Ask 4 Wi-Fi”. Upon connection it will prompt you to provide basic information and it requires you to accept the term of use. If you have any issues with connecting to our open network, please contact reception in the first instance.  The ISP can be contacted on 0114 303 32 32 or

For your convenience, a laundry bag and dry cleaning list are provided in each room in the top desk drawer. This offer runs on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. All laundry will need to be handed to reception the night before or by 7:30 am in the morning.

Opening times:  Monday to Friday 06.30 – 22.30. Saturday and Sunday 08.00 – 19.00.

Please contact reception who can give you advice on the attractions around the area and may be able to book tickets and transport for you. Alternatively, a list of some popular attractions can be found on our website here.

If you have forgotten anything, please contact us as soon as possible.  We will keep found items for up to 3 months. Cost of postage/return will be at your own expense. The hotel assumes no liability for lost items.

Should you discover a maintenance fault in your bedroom during your stay please contact reception who will arrange for someone to investigate and hopefully resolve the issue.  Please be aware that if it is a major fault or something we cannot resolve immediately, we may have to move you to another room.

Should you require medical assistance please contact reception.

Should you require the emergency services please contact reception or call 999 and notify reception so we can ensure the emergency services are met and directed to your room.

On-site parking is free of charge for all hotel guests and visitors. All vehicle details must be entered in one of the kiosks located in the hotel reception or the Element Bar & Restaurant to avoid charges.

Please be advised that we are a non-smoking hotel. It is strictly prohibited to smoke in rooms and public areas.  Anyone found to have been smoking will be charged to cover damages, deep cleaning and, if the room has to be taken offline, for any loss of revenue.

If you do smoke, please do so in the designated outside areas.
